Dewayne Lee Dunn, 29, Hartford, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Emergency Department of Newman Regional Health, Emporia, Kansas.
Dewayne was born in Lawrence, Kansas on February 1, 1983, the son of Buddy DeWayne and Teresa Joan (Lawrence) Dunn. Dewayne and Allison D. Emley were joined in marriage on November 5, 2005 in Emporia. She survives of the home.
Surviving family members include: his wife, Allison; one son, Levi Dunn, of the home; mother and stepfather, Teresa and Mark Lynch, Dunlap, Kansas; father, Buddy Dunn, Oswego, Kansas; grandparents, Norm and Sherry Lawrence, Eudora, Kansas, and Donald and Bertha Dunn, Chetopa, Kansas; great-grandparents, Rosemary and Norm Lawrence, of Lawrence; sister, Dusty Dunn, Dunlap; brothers, Scott R. Dunn, Bushong, Kansas and Harley Turan, Dunlap; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Donna Emley, Neosho Rapids, Kansas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kendra and Travis Spade, Lebo, Kansas; and several Nieces and Nephews.
Dewayne was a truck driver and oil field worker for several oil and well service firms including Summitt Drilling (Emporia), Armor Management (Gridley, KS), and Hurricane Well Service (Madison, KS). He was a graduate of Northern Heights High School, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Mr. Loren Lutes. Interment will follow in Hartford Cemetery, south of Hartford, Kansas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, December 16, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established for the benefit of his son, Levi, with contributions sent in care of the funeral home.
