Dolly J. Clopton, 82, of Emporia, Kansas, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Flint Hills Care Center in Emporia.

Dolly J. Barton was born May 17, 1931 in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Fred F. and Florence E. (McCracken) Barton. She was a graduate of Labette County High School. Dolly was a homemaker and also worked outside the home as a caregiver for nine years and at Hallmark Cards for nine years. She was a founding member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Emporia and a leader of Al-Anon.

Dolly married Delbert Dean Clopton on March 14, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Emporia. He died November 11, 2008 in Olathe, Kansas. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Morris of Emporia; brothers, Max Barton of Louisburg, Kansas, and Ned Barton of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and granddaughters, Megan Clopton and Rachael Clopton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Michael David Clopton; brother, Galen Barton; and two sisters, Frances Barton and Janice Preston.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Rev. Roy A. Ferguson of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Emporia will be officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
