Donna Lou Coffelt, 80, of Emporia, Kansas, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Holiday Resort in Emporia.

Donna was born January 19, 1934 in Emporia, the daughter of Leslie and Lena (Doty) Davis. She married Nelson C. Coffelt on February 15, 1951 in Independence, Missouri. He died October 12, 2005 in Emporia.

Donna and Nelson owned and operated Coffelt Sign Company in Emporia. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Emporia; Morse-Storrs Circle, Congregational Women’s Fellowship; Social Service Club; Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader and Women’s Golf Association at the Emporia Country Club.

Donna is survived by: sons, Terry Coffelt of Emporia and Corey Coffelt and wife Jennifer of Shawnee, Kansas; daughter, Staci Hamman and husband Rick of Emporia; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Coffelt Kern and husband Jim of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Lee Coffelt and wife Anna of Paradise, California; grandchildren, Justin Coffelt and wife Errin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Katie Coffelt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Austin Coffelt and wife Amy of Emporia, Alyssa Coffelt of Princeton, Kansas, Dustin Hamman and wife Katie of Waverly, Kansas, Jesse Hamman and wife Lenae of Emporia, Kansas, Levi Clark of Emporia, Corbin Coffelt of Shawnee, Kansas and Cameran Coffelt of Shawnee, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Aiden Coffelt of Edmond, Taylah Hamman of Waverly, and Parker Amos of Princeton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Danny Coffelt; and a sister, Jean Whittington.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at First Congregational Church in Emporia. Pastor Andrew McHenry of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Emporia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hand-In-Hand Hospice or Emporia Friends of the Zoo and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
