Donna I. Miller, 80, of Americus died Friday, February 23, 2018 at Newman Regional Health.
Her funeral will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Americus Presbyterian Church. Pastor James Scott of the Cornerstone Baptist Church will officiate. Bural will be in the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, KS.
Donna Ilene Craig the daughter of Norman Hershel and Veda I. Gabhart Craig was born November 6, 1937 in Minatare, Nebraska. She married Ralph Merton “Mert” Miller on July 16, 1956. He preceded her in death on March 10. 1997.
Other surviving members of the family include, a son, Mike Miller of Joplin, Missouri; a daughter, Vicki (Scott) Davis of Corning, Iowa; two sisters, Phyllis Jean Potter of Ottawa and Patricia Bonde of Americus; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter also survive.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Bobbi Ronfeldt; a brother, Dennis Dean Craig; and two infant granddaughters.
Donna was the cook at the Americus School for thirty years, and also cooked at the Breckenridge County Café in Americus for many years after retirement. She then, along with her sister Pat, owned and operated the “Nowhere Bar’ in Americus. She liked to Crochet and fish. She was an avid gambler and NASCAR fan. Donna was famous for her cinnamon rolls, chili and many other treats she made. She was well liked and most folks that knew her called her mom or grandma.
A memorial fund will be designated later. Donations may be made out to the Donna Miller Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett, 605 State, Emporia, Kansas.
