Doreitha Mae Brooks

Doreitha Mae Brooks, 72, of Emporia died on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia.

Doreitha was born on November 11, 1945 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Samuel K. “Bud” and Dorothy M. Dorsey Brooks.
Surviving family members include: daughter, Paulette M. Brooks of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren, JoVaughn Brook, Pa-Shia M. Brooks, Devin Brooks, Jaz Brooks, Justice Malek-Brooks, and Paulette Quinn; great-grandchildren, Malcom Brooks, Pa-Shia M. Brooks, and Diamond Brooks; brothers, Roger Brooks, Patrick Brooks, Ernest Brooks, and Steven Brooks; sisters, Darlene Casteneda, JoAnn Morris, Eunice “Mickey” Brooks, Barbara Finch, Martha Brooks, Dorothy Brooks, and Fannie Brooks.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Bud L. Brooks, Jr.

Doreitha was a L.P.N. at Holiday Resort Care Center and Emporia Rehabilitation Center for over 20 years. She was a member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Emporia with burial following at the Maplewood Cemetery, Emporia. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions to St. James Missionary Baptist Church can be sent in care of the funeral home.
