Doris Charlene Krone

Doris Krone
August 3, 1929 - March 27, 2016

Doris Charlene (Vierth) Krone passed away Easter Sunday. Born in Chanute, Kansas, she graduated from Kansas State University. Doris selected Emporia, Kansas as her home in 1975, retiring from Emporia State University in 1995.

Memberships include First United Methodist Church, UMW, Monday Night Circle, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Parliament Club, Civil Service Retirees, and ESU Alumni Association. She was an Auxiliary Treasurer and Pink Lady at Newman Hospital, charter member of Emporia ABWA, and season ticket holder for ESU Hornets basketball.

Surviving family members include sister Jeanne Antweiler, four children: Karen, Jan, Charlene and Kevin, seven grandchildren: Kyle, Kurtis, Jason, Jessica, Amanda, Emily and Brendan, and two great-grandchildren: Mackenna and Lincoln.

Celebration of Life service 11 A.M. Friday, April 8, at First United Methodist Church, Emporia.
