Dorothy Marie Bryant Edgar, 85, of Emporia died on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Edwardsville, Kansas.
Dorothy was born on December 24, 1928 the daughter of Joseph and Laura Vivian Metcalf Suddock. She married Robert Gavin and later divorced. She married Tommy Bryant in December of 1965 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He died in 1972. Dorothy later married Bruce Edgar in Miami, Oklahoma; he died on July 4, 1997 in Emporia.
She is survived by her daughters, Gloria McIntosh of Haysville, Kansas, and Mary Gavin of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Suddock and Clayton Suddock, both of Emporia; and a sister, Helen Howell of Emporia.
She is preceded in death by two husband, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Dorothy owned and operated the The Blue Inn, and Foxie Ladies in Emporia. She later operated a daycare at her home in Emporia. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2587, and V.F.W. Auxiliary.
A memorial graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Patio Garden, Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Memorial contributions to the 700 Club may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
