Dorothy R Marcotte

Dorothy R. Marcotte, rural Allen, Kansas, died at her home Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 91.

Dorothy R. Reidel was born in Allen, Kansas on September 1, 1925, the daughter of John H. and Sadie I. (Hull) Reidel. Dorothy married Virgil Marcotte in Allen, Kansas on February 3, 1945. He passed away on March 17, 2004.

Surviving family members include her son, Virgil D. Marcotte, Matfield Green, Kansas, and a sister, Una Mae Kuhn, Admire, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and two sisters; LaVera Reust and Estella Marcotte.

She was a member of the Allen United Methodist Church, Allen, Kansas. Earlier in her life Mrs. Marcotte had taught in one room schools in Northern Lyon County.

Funeral Services will be held at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Mark Stukey, Allen, Kansas. Burial will be in the Bushong Cemetery, Bushong, Kansas.
