Douglas Alan Duncan, 48, of Emporia, Kansas, died September 7, 2011 at his home.
Douglas Alan Duncan was born October 11, 1962 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Dennis H. & Mary Kay (Pauler) Duncan. He was a graduate of Emporia High School, and had previously worked as a groundskeeper at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, Emporia Country Club, and Emporia State University. Douglas was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Douglas married Lorinda Skinner and they later divorced. He is survived by: his father, Dennis Duncan of Cleveland, Tennessee; his mother, Mary Kay Wright of Emporia; four daughters, Lauren and Jodie Duncan of Neosho Rapids, Kansas, Khristin Morrgan of Emporia, and Sandra Duncan of Tea, South Dakota; brother, Warren Duncan of Cleveland, Tennessee; sister, Natalie Duncan of Emporia; and three granddaughters, Pyztal Foster, Reia Foster, and Nadia Mechels, all of Tea, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kirk Duncan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School or to an education fund set up for his children, and sent in care of the funeral home.
