Duane Charles Dingman, 72 of Americus, Kansas died Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Holiday Resort Care Center in Emporia.
Duane was born December 4, 1944 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of William Charles and Erma Blanche (Hough) Dingman. He worked as a production manager at Iowa Beef Processors in Emporia, then as a receiving manager at Dolly Madison Bakery before retiring from DeBauge Brothers in 2001 as the warehouse manager. Duane was a member of the Americus United Methodist Church. He was a pilot and built an experimental plane. Duane and his wife enjoyed being Geritol gypsies and spent 5 months out of the year in South Padre Island, Texas.
Duane married Shirley Burenheide and they later divorced. He then married Rita Gragg. Survivors include: wife, Rita of the home, son Darin (Alicia) Dingman of Emporia, daughters Mechele (Ed)Tijerina of Oklahoma and Elizabeth Edington of Mayetta, Kansas, step-sons Randy (Diana) Hizar of Emporia, KS, Troy Minor of Neosho Falls, Ks; step-daughter Holly (Greg) French of Admire, KS, sister Deanna Jaffey of Clermont, Florida, 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Donna Lee Leonard, and a brother Daryl William Dingman.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the United Methodist Church, 413 Walnut St, Americus, Kansas. Pastor Nancy Mathis will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia.
