Dustin Duffield Carter, 35, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Saturday April, 27, 2013 at his home. He was born November 5, 1977 in Emporia, and was the son of Darrel and Debra Duffield Carter.
Dustin graduated from Emporia High School and Flint Hills Vocational Technical College in 1996. He was a senior at Emporia State University majoring in Computer Science, Applied Math and Physical Sciences.
Dustin was a partner in Carter Home Builders for the past 17 years and was the co-owner of Billet Boy Manufacturing, doing machine work for several local businesses.
He is survived by his parents, Darrel and Debra Carter of Emporia; a brother, Darren and wife Wendy Carter of Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Danielle Carter of Shawnee, Kansas; adopted daughter, Cameron Carter of Reading, Kansas; and two nephews, Cole and Bode Carter, Wichita.
Dustin is also survived by other family members including, Uncle Dan and wife Pam Carter; Uncle Kriss and wife Eileen Carter of Emporia; Uncle Ron and Pat Carter of Independence, Missouri; Aunt Dee Duffield Smith and husband Don Lyon of Kansas City, Missouri.
A visitation service with the family will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 7-8p.m. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 2pm at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.
