Earl L. Watson of Emporia, Kansas, died Sunday, July 28, 2013. He was 87.
Earl was born on September 9, 1925 in Ness City, Kansas, the son of George and Katie Danks Watson. He married Dixie Minkler on October 7, 1967 in Garnett, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: sons, David Watson of Wichita, Kansas, Lonnie Watson of Arizona, and Brad Watson of Council Grove, Kansas; daughters, Pamela Miller of Winfield, Kansas, Patricia Ann Bussart of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Earline Kay Andrews of Florida; sisters, Georgie Gumfory of Emporia, Kathleen Hufferd of Chanute, Kansas, and Wilma Fields of Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Earl lived in Emporia and worked for Blacktop Construction for many years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
No services are planned. Mr. Watson bequeathed his body to The University of Kansas Hospital Willed Body Program.
