Eddie "Ed" Michael Ramirez

Eddie "Ed" Michael Ramirez, 76, of Emporia, KS, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on June 12, 2026. Ed was born on September 2, 1949, Ed was a lifelong resident of Emporia. He graduated from Emporia High School, went on to own Candy's Candies in the 1980s, and later owned Ed's Drywall, where he spent his lifetime contributing to the community by remodeling homes, schools, nursing homes, and both residential and commercial properties. Ed was a social light. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, shuffleboard, darts, horse races, and casinos. He lived his life to the fullest, wherever his journey took him. He was a member of the Squadron 5 Sons of The American Legion at Ball-McColm Post 5 American Legion.

Ed is survived by his best friend and furry companion, Betty Boop (Boopa); wife, Dee; his brother, Larry (Mary) Ramirez; his sister, Nancy (Larry) Smallwood; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night, Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest top shelf at the Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
