Edith Marie Roglin, 85, of Emporia, Kansas died on October 31, 2012 at her home in Emporia.


Edith was born on December 5, 1926 in Hamilton, Kansas, the daughter of Leland and Sarah Smith Wygle. She married Albert H, Roglin, Jr. on November 9, 1947. He died on October 31, 2012 in Emporia.

Surviving family members include: daughters, Sally Roglin of Emporia, and Virginia Honomichl of Baldwin City, Kansas; brother, Howard Wygle of San Diego, California; granddaughter, Abby Haight of Harrisonville, Missouri; and great-grandchildren, Brady and Whitney Haight both of Harrisonville.


She is preceded in death by her parents; son, James T. Roglin; sisters, Hazel Long, and Dorothy Lozier; and brothers, Leonard Wygle, and Wilbur Wygle.


For 28 years, she was a clerk at the Board of Education in Eureka, Kansas. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Ball-McColm Post #5 American Legion Auxiliary, Newman Regional Health Auxiliary, and the Eastern Star in Toronto, Kansas.


Funeral services will be held at 9:59 A.M. Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, Emporia. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, Kansas. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, November 7, 2012, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
