Eileen Ann (Geiger) Gasche, of Olpe, Kansas passed from this world to join her husband Ward on October 11, 2017 surrounded by her five children.
Eileen Ann Geiger was born July 27, 1927 on the family farm to Jacob and Anna (Boes) Geiger. She was the eighth of nine children. Eileen was united in marriage to Ward W. Gasche on September 4, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia, KS.
The couple had been married almost 67 years when Ward passed away on August 28, 2013. They lived on a farm and made their living in agriculture.
Eileen enjoyed traveling, EWTN, and gardening. She was a devout Catholic, serving as a Eucharistic Minister in the church and a volunteer at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Emporia. She was an avid fan of K-State athletics, the Kansas City Royals, and was a member of the Happy Homemakers HDU.
Besides her husband, Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Raymond, Aloysius, Alfred and Clarence Geiger and sisters Lucille Decker, Wilhelmina Soule and Mary Alice Goodwin.
Eileen is survived by her five children, Karen Lindamood, Gary Gasche, Brenda Blackard, Sandra Kilcrease and Keith Gasche; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mildred Mach; a brother-in-law, Howard Goodwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 17, 2017 with Father Pete O’Sullivan, Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Olpe, KS.
