Elden George Kuhn, 85, of Admire, Kansas, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
  
  
  
  Elden was born on November 15, 1928 in Springfield, Colorado, the son of Walter E. and Estella Marie McNair Kuhn. He married Una Mae Reidel on December 23, 1951 at her parents’ home south of Allen. She survives at the home.
  
  
  
  Other survivors include his two sons, Michael Kuhn and Ronald Kuhn, both of Admire; sisters, Violet Selby of Abilene, Kansas and Viola Kuhn of Emporia; grandchildren, Heather Swanson, Dustin Kuhn, and Sarah Kuhn; and great-grandchildren, Madelynn Kuhn and William Swanson.
  
  
  
  Elden served in the United States Army in Japan. During his tenure, he served in an office under General McArthur before going to work at Beech Aircraft of Herington. He worked at Didde-Glaser as an experimental technician for approximately 30 years before he retired. He was the City Clerk for the City of Admire for 39 years and was the Treasurer for the Ivy Township for 50 years.
  
  
  He and his wife, Una Mae, also owned and operated the Last Chance Café for 13 years where he enjoyed visiting with the customers. Elden was a member of the Admire United Methodist Church and Lowry-Funston Post #1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Emporia. He was a retired volunteer fireman for Lyon County Fire District #2 and a former member of Northern Heights Men’s Club.
  
  
  
  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Admire United Methodist Church, Admire. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, January 19, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Burial will take place at Admire Cemetery, Admire.
