Eliza Ethel Seastrom

Eliza Ethel Seastrom, 85, of Emporia, Kansas, died on January 11, 2012 at her home in Emporia.

Ethel was born on March 10, 1926 in Hartford, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Anne Smith Fancher. She married Howard Bowers on October 16, 1946 in Emporia; he died on November 22, 1986 in Emporia. She later married Earl Seastrom on November 24, 1989 in Alabama. He survives of the home.


Other survivors include: daughters, Lisa Bowers-Gardner of Americus, Kansas, and Charmein Phillips of Emporia; son, Steven Bowers of Emporia; brothers, Ray Fancher of Emporia, and Wes Francher of Emporia; grandchildren, Joey Phillips, Damon Pine, Deanna Stallbaumer, Sherry Leister, Sarah Bowers, Sam Bowers, John Wedge, April Wedge, Kimberly Olson, and Jessica Boyce; great-grandchildren, Joey Phillips, Jr., Devin Carlson, Skyler Carlson, Jewel Pine, Isaac Stallbaumer, Madelyn Stallbaumer, Tara Waymire, Jolina Boland, Savannah Leister, and Heather Metcalfe; and great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Haley, Macy, and Haven.

She is preceded in death by her first Husband; daughter, Michael Wedge; and brothers, Clarence Willis Fancher and George Wilbur Fancher.

Ethel was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Emporia, Eagles of Emporia, V.F.W. and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, mixed Bowling League, Nifty-Fifty H.D.U., Over 40 Dance at Emporia Senior Center, and Senior Dance at Emporia Recreation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The family will welcome friends and family one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Services will be conducted by Pastor Susan Daniel-Brey of Grace United Methodist Church.
