Elizabeth Maurine Hollar, 79, Emporia, Kansas, died November 10, 2010 at her home.
Elizabeth Maurine Price was born May 7, 1931 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd Berryman & Mary V. (Wiley) Price. She married Norman C. Smith in Emporia, Kansas on May 28, 1950. They later divorced. She then married James W. Hollar in April 1982 at the 1st Christian Church in Emporia. He died November 22, 1998 at Emporia.
Surviving family members include her sons: Jeffrey N. Smith of Citrus Heights, California; and Price R. Smith of Topeka, Kansas; Daughter, Martha V. Allen of Emporia, Kansas; four Grandchildren; two Great Grandchildren; and five Step-Great Grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband; brother, Wylie Price; sister, Sarah Price Thomas; and a Granddaughter, Jessica Smith.
Elizabeth was a licensed practical nurse, working in Emporia and Topeka, Kansas, until she retired. She was a member of the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Emporia, Kansas; The Order of the Eastern Star; and a LPN Nursing Organization.
A memorial service will be at the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Emporia, on Tuesday November 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. The service will be conducted by Reverend Samuel Mason, Trinity Episcopal Church, Independence, Missouri. Cremation has taken place.
