Elizabeth Elinor Lewis, Emporia, Kansas, died Monday, August 23, 2010 at her home. She was 92.

Elizabeth Elinor Hughes was born in Emporia, Kansas on January 22, 1918, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Lloyd Hughes. She married James Trevor Lewis at Emporia, Kansas on September 29, 1940. He survives of the home.

She is also survived by a daughter, Bronwen Anne Lewis of Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother.

Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker, and prior to her marriage worked as a dental assistant.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Emporia, she had been an Elder of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Westminster Presbyterian Church Women, PEO, Trend Study Club, Miriam Chapter #14 of the Order of Eastern Star, The Women’s City Club, PTA, Lyon County Women’s Republican Club, United Church Women, Social Order of Beauceant, Westminster Church Choir, and Ladies Aid, and the Social Service Club.

Funeral services will be held at the West Campus, Presbyterian Church of Emporia on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. The service will be conducted by Rev. Mike Sorsen of the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia, Kansas.
