Elizabeth Joan Vahsholtz

Elizabeth Joan Vahsholtz, 86, of Emporia died on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.

Joan was born on January 13, 1932 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Wayne Murray and Edna Pauline Kehler Baldwin.  She married Milton Edward Vahsholtz on January 27, 1951 at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia.  He died on October 14, 2012 in Emporia.

Surviving family members include: son, Wayne Vahsholtz and wife Tamie of Emporia; daughter, Debra Wright and husband Doug of Vandalia, Illinois; brothers, Jim Baldwin of Douglas, Kansas and Tom Baldwin of Mississippi; grandchildren, Tiffany Pike, Christopher Vahsholtz, Katie Vahsholtz, Heidi Wright, and Clayton Wright; great-grandchildren, Spencer Pike, Cooper Vahsholtz, and Oakley Vahsholtz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Richard Baldwin, sisters Anabel Stair, and Mary Lou Elkins.

Joan was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.  She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Emporia.
