Ellen Wilson Coffman, 88, of Allen, Kansas died Sunday, October 2, at home. There will be no services. A Celebration of Her Life Open House will be hosted by her family at Ellen's home on Saturday, October 8, 2016, from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, (21 West 7th, Allen). All family and friends are invited to Celebrate and honor Ellen's life.
Ellen was born in Allen, Kansas on December 20, 1927 and has been a lifetime resident of Allen. Ellen was the Daughter of Henry Anderson Wilson and Laurenia Harder Wilson. She married Theodore Gibbs Coffman in Allen, July 16, 1953. Theodore passed away September 30, 1990.
Surviving family members include daughter Cary L. Miles (Kevin) and Lisa C. Duff (Jim) of Lenexa, Ks. Three grandchildren, Darcie L Miles of Andover, KS, Theodore J. Duff and Taylor C. Duff of Lenexa along with other family and friends whose life's she touched.
Ellen graduated from the University of Kansas with a BS in Business in 1950. Ellen had a working knowledge of Ranching, Business and the history of Allen. Ellen was blessed with many talents and traits with the most being her love for the land, travel and enjoyment of her family and friends.
A memorial has been established in her memory with the Lyon County Library District No. 1, Allen, KS. Memorial donations can be sent to: P.O. Box 416, Allen, KS.
