Ellen L. Heins, Emporia, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia, at the age of 90.
Funeral services will be held at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. The service will be conducted by Father Brandon Farrar, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.
Ellen L. Arndt was born in Emporia, Kansas on October 5, 1926, the daughter of Alouis Theodore and Isabelle (Flott) Arndt. She married William H. Heins September 16, 1947 in Emporia. He died January 24, 1975.
Surviving family members include her son; William H. “Bill” (Bunny) Heins, Daughters; Sally Price (Ron), and Donna Fehr (Kevin), all three of Emporia, Kansas, Daughter-In-Law; Sylvia Heins, Olpe, Brother; Frank Arndt, Emporia, and Sister; Isabelle Spellman, Emporia, as well as ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son; Ronald E. Heins, her twin sister; Helen, who died at birth, Brothers; Clarence and Robert Arndt, and her sister; Jean Witherspoon.
Mrs. Heins worked a numbers of years as a bookkeeper/secretary for Haynes Hardware and the Emporia Senior Center until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Auxiliary of Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion, Emporia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM
