Ellen Hockanson

Ellen (Hoyt) Hockanson, 87, of Wichita, Kansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior December, 3, 2015.

Ellen was born July 6, 1928 in Hartford, Kansas, to Charles and Mary Hoyt.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William D. Hockanson; sons, James Hockanson and Jon Hockanson (Robin), both of Bentley, Kansas, and Charles Hockanson (Candi) of Wichita; daughter, Phyllis Gracy (Richard) of Wichita; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, James Hoyt (Pam) of Burlington, Kansas; sister, Edith Voorhees of Emporia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Hoyt; a sister, Irene Comeaux; and a daughter-in-law, Lorna Hockanson.

She was much-loved and will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M., at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia, followed by a graveside service at Phillips Cemetery, Reading, Kansas.
