Elmer Joseph Bolz, Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia. He was 79.
Elmer Bolz was born October 16, 1931 in Olpe, Kansas, the son of Henry C. and Frances A. (Kiene) Bolz. He married Maxine Lang in Emporia, Kansas in 1954. She died September 16, 1974. On July 30, 1983 he married Martha Krueger at Emporia, she survives.

Sons: John Bolz, Wentzville, Missouri; and Dan Bolz, Overland Park, Kansas
Daughter: Kathy Edwards, Allen, Kansas; and Step-Daughter, Jan Hermes, Raymore, Missouri
Sister: Marguerite Sharp, Saint George, Kansas
Eight Grandchildren: Kristofer Bolz; Sarah and Sean Edwards; Caden Bolz; and Elizabeth, Alex, Gabriel, and Noah Hermes
There are also a number of Nieces and Nephews surviving.
Elmer was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Leo, Charles, and Jerome; and a Sister, Helen Rockley.
Mr. Bolz was Parts Manager with John North Ford, Emporia, and had been retired 17 years.
Mr. Bolz was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Elmer was a member of Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a member of the Post Honor Guard. He was also a member of Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, Kansas, on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Richard Warsnak, of the church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia. Military Graveside services will be conducted by Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The Rosary will be recited at the church Sunday evening at 7:00 P.M. The family will receive friends following the Rosary until 8:30.
