Elnora Fay French

Elnora Fay French, 94 of Emporia, Kansas died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Holiday Resort Care Center.

Elnora was born July 4, 1923 in Emporia, the daughter of Allen and Myrtle (Murray) Vickrey. She was a homemaker. Elnora was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporia and the Order of Eastern Star in Hartford, Kansas.

Elnora married Wayne French in Emporia on March 24, 1944. He died July 26, 1977 in Hartford. She is survived by a daughter Wanda Lane and husband Bob of Emporia, her loving companion of 20 years Jean Nicklin, grandsons Bobby Lane and wife Dawn of Silt, Colorado and Cory Lane of Emporia, granddaughter Melissia Metcalfe of Olpe, Kansas, 7 great-granddaughters and 3 great great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Abner Vickrey and Earnest Vickrey, sisters Eunice Lary, Clara Lutz, Mary Aleta Counts, Romona Weeks and Betty Scheve, and a great great-granddaughter Kambrynn Gurley.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Pastor Jeannie Jenson of the First United Methodist Church will be officiating. Interment will be in the Hartford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2018 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hand-In-Hand Hospice or the First United Methodist Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
