Elvira M. Wagner, Emporia, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia, at the age of 74.
Elvira M. Spealman was born July 13, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of George W. and Dorotha F. (Strauss) Spealman. She married Leonard Wagner in Emporia on September 21, 1957. He survives of the home.
Other surviving family members include: daughters, Rhonda Reynolds, Topeka, Kansas, Janu (Bill) Cress, Greenwood, Missouri; sons, Gregory (Kimberle) Wagner, Kansas City, Missouri, and Rodney (Brenda) Wagner, Topeka; sisters, Delores Rodgers, Emporia, and Carol Wood, Phenix City, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Kayla) Reynolds, Rhett Reynolds, Rawlyn Wagner Reynolds, Kaleb Wagner, Lauren Wagner, Riley Wagner, Jeneca Cress, and Nolan Leonard Cress.
Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Diana Lynn Wagner (May 5, 1960).
Elvira was a faithful and devoted Pastor’s wife, serving with her husband Leonard for six years in Nebraska and two years in Missouri, before coming to Emporia to serve at the Church of God Of Prophecy for 43 years.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. The service will be conducted by Rev. Wayne Pense, Regional Presbyter, Church of God of Prophecy, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and her husband, Rev. Leonard Wagner, Church of God of Prophecy, Emporia. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Emporia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, March 7, 2013 from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Church of God of Prophecy, with contributions sent in care of the funeral home.
