Esmeralda Ruiz, 13 died December 7, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
Esmeralda was born October 25, 2004 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Juvenal and Ruicelia (Vargas) Ruiz. She was a student at Emporia Middle School and played saxophone in the middle school band. Esmeralda loved to play her saxophone and was talking about going out for basketball.
Esmeralda is survived by her parents, grandparents Videl and Ofelia Vargas of Emporia, grandfather Gavino Ruiz of Matugeo, Michoacan, Mexico, brother Jovany Ruiz, sister Pricsila Ruiz both of the home. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Maria Inez Ruiz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Emporia. Father John Cordes will be the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia. The Rosary will be recited 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 11, 2017 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
