Essa Juanita Newton was born at Americus, Kansas on January 12, 1919, the daughter of Earl J. and Eva Anderson Newton. She married Jessie Greenfield at Lyndon, Kansas on October 4, 1938. He died August 5, 1988; she later married Charles Haught, who died in 1992.
Surviving family members include: five grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husbands; daughters, Juanita Woodward and Phyllis Winchester; brothers, Elmer, Dale, and Sidney Newton; and sister, Opal Olson.
Mrs. Haught was a housewife. She was a member of the West Side Baptist Church, Emporia, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at the West Side Baptist Church, Emporia. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ken Armstrong.
