Evelyn Goldsmith, Emporia, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia, at the age of 86.
Evelyn Mobley was born in Grady, New Mexico on June 3, 1934, the daughter of C.J. and Zula (Ball) Mobley. She married B. J. Goldsmith at Portales, New Mexico on April 16, 1952. He died December 9, 1998.
Surviving family members include her daughters; Brenda Ortiz, Kansas, Cheryl Fox, Washington, son; Berry Goldsmith, Florida, sisters; Frances “Sue” Rogers, Nebraska, Bonnie Spearman, Colorado, grandchildren; Jeremy Ortiz, Brent Harrison, Breland Fox, and Stratton Fox, great-grandchildren; Micah Encalade, Alexis Ortiz, Brayden Harrison, Bentley Fox, Braxton Fox, Braker Fox, and 4 great-great grandchildren; Caroline, Rileigh, Harper, and Claire Encalade.
She was preceded in death by Kerry, B.J., Jr., Larry & Stanley (sons) and 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
She was a day care provider for several years prior to her retirement.
Cremation is planned. Inurnment will be at a later date in New Mexico.
