Evelyn Alfreda Haag, of Olpe, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor, Emporia, Kansas at the age of 95.
Evelyn Alfreda Schultz was born July 11, 1915 in Maydale, Kansas, the daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Knoll) Schultz. She married Nicholas Haag at the Maydale Catholic Church in Maydale, Kansas, on April 10, 1934. He died April 18, 1972 at Olpe, Kansas.
She is survived by: sons, Robert Haag of Topeka, Kansas, Jerry Haag of Olpe, Kansas, and Bill Haag of Emporia, Kansas; daughters, Deaun Wilson of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, and Lavern Howell of Irving, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Nick; a son, Dennis Haag; brothers, Raymond Schultz and Edwin Schultz; and a sister, Iona Gilligan Fagan.
Evelyn was a cook for U.S.D. 252 for 25 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe, Kansas; St. Ann’s Alter Society; Quilting Corner; Happy Homemakers; and Flying Needles.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe, Kansas. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Olpe, Kansas. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 1, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or Hand In Hand Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
