Everett L. Marsh, 66, of Melvern, Kansas died on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia, Kansas.


Everett was born on June 6, 1945 in La Junta, Colorado, the son of John Henry and Delphia (Hollman) Marsh. He married Rose Yeakly in June 6, 1965 in Emporia, Kansas, but later divorced. He then married Shirley Roush on September 1, 1990 in Weather Bee Lake, Missouri; she survives.

Other survivors include: son, Kevin Marsh of Wellington, Florida; daughter, Kim Carolan of Wellsville, Kansas; grandchildren, Jade, Alaina, Brice, and Emma Marsh of Wellington, Florida, Tristian and Drake Carolan of Wellsville, Kansas; and brothers, Earl Marsh of Bluff City, Kansas, Jim Marsh of Americus, Kansas, and Ray Marsh of Emporia, Kansas.


He is preceded in death by his parents.


Everett worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years as a conductor before he retired five years ago. He was a member of the Americus Masonic Lodge #109 A.F. & A.M.; Arab Shrine Temple; Neosho Valley Shrine Club, where he was a past president; past member of the Mini T Unit; Past Potentate’s Aide; and Captain of the Guard, as well as a member of the Camel Herders.


The service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 17, 2011, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Traw of Iola, Kansas officiating. Interment will be in the Bushong Cemetery in Bushong, Kansas. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening, June 16, 2011, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
