Farrice I. Cornwell, 105, a resident of Emporia, Kansas, since 1981, and formerly of the Bushong area, died at Emporia Presbyterian Manor Sunday, October 9, 2011.
Farrice I. Beumer was born at Bushton, Kansas on June 25, 1906, the daughter of William A. and Ida (Springer) Beumer. She married Manly E. Cornwell at Winfield, Kansas on September 20, 1939. He died June 28, 1996.
Surviving family members include nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Cornwell worked as a medical assistant until she retired in 1971. She was a member of the former Bushong United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, the former Eastern Star Chapter at Allen, Kansas, which merged with Miriam Chapter #14, Order of the Eastern Star, Emporia.
A graveside service will be held at Bushong Cemetery, southeast of Bushong, Kansas at 11:00 AM on Friday, October14, 2011. The service will be conducted by Mr. Lee Hoskins. Eastern Star services will be conducted by Miriam Chapter #14, Order of the Eastern Star.
