Felix R. Cisneros, Sr.

Felix R. Cisneros, Sr., 86, Emporia, Kansas, died at Holiday Resort, Emporia, on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.


Felix was born at Emporia on March 5, 1927, the son of Sipriano and Luisa (Rodriguez) Cisneros. He married Aurelia “Faye” DeLaTorre at Emporia on June 9, 1945. She died September 30, 2008.


Mr. Cisneros is survived by: two daughters, Mary Louise (Anthony) Tabares and Rachel (David) Rodriguez, both of Emporia; two sons, Felix (Teri) Cisneros, Jr., Shawnee, Kansas, and Robert D. (Evelyn) Cisneros, Emporia; brother, Phillip (Leona) Cisneros, Sr. of Emporia, who he raised; brother, Santos Cisneros, Sr. Grandview, Missouri; sister, Frances DeLaTorre, Liberty, Missouri; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by a son, Richard “Tom” Cisneros, three sisters, and one brother.


Mr. Cisneros began working for Santa Fe Railway at the age of 17 as a machine operator, and retired in 1982. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. He enjoyed cars and the Santa Fe Railroad.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:30 A.M., with Father Rich Warsnak, Celebrant, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.


The Rosary will be recited at the church Thursday evening, January 16, 2014, at 7:00 P.M.
