Francis “Fran” D. Sattler, 69, of rural Emporia, Kansas, died December 23, 2012 at his home.
Fran was born on August 12, 1943 in Emporia, the son of Jake and Hazel Peet Sattler. He married Joyce Cain on January 3, 1965 in Windom, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: daughter, Tamara Sattler; and son, Jeff Sattler both of the Kansas City area.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Robert Sattler, and Clifford Sattler.
For many years, Fran sold cars at John North Ford in Emporia and was also a cattle rancher. He attended Neosho Rapids Memorial Methodist Church in Neosho Rapids, and was a member of the Kansas Livestock Association, Teamsters Union, and the Miracle Café Coffee Club.
Cremation has taken place with a Memorial Service 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 28, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Gene Huston on The Neosho Rapids Memorial Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening, December 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Hartford Community Food Bank, Neosho Rapids Memorial Methodist Church, or the H.
