Frank “Pete” Conklin (77) of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at his home.
Frank “Pete” Conklin, the son of Roy and Nellie Gordon Conklin, was born October 12, 1933 in Strong City, Kansas. He married Leola Lutt on June 1, 1964 at Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. She survives of the Home.
Other survivors include: one son, Terry and his wife Jocelyn Conklin of Emporia; three daughters, Marcia and her husband Robert Reilly of Ord, Nebraska, Deanna Conklin of Emporia, and Frances and her husband Brian Potter of Reading, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, and one uncle.
Pete was a professional rodeo cowboy; riding bulls and broncos, and he also had worked construction.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. There will be a viewing from 10:00 until 11:00 at the church on Thursday. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Rich Warsnak. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, with a family visitation to follow.
