Fred J. Aguilar, 73, Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Fred was born March 10, 1938 at Emporia, Kansas, the son of A.J. “Joe” and Lupe (Solis) Aguilar. He married Ramona Tabares at Emporia, on July 2, 1955. She survives of the home.
Other family members include: four daughters, Rachel Guerrero, and Sandra Hale, Emporia, Diana Gonzales, Garden City, Kansas, and Mona Lancaster, Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sons, Fred Aguilar and John Aguilar, both in Emporia; a brother, Louis Aguilar, Emporia; three sisters, Delores Torres, Emporia, Margaret Mendoza, Rock Island, Illinois, and Bonnie Hernandez, Hutchinson, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Esther Sparks.
Mr. Aguilar was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia.
He was employed for several years by Dolly Madison Bakery and later Iowa Beef Processors in Emporia. After retirement, he worked part-time at McDonalds on the Turnpike, The Emporia Gazette, and then USD #253, Emporia, fully retiring in December of 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, with Father Richard Warsnak, Celebrant. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.
The Rosary will be recited at the church Sunday evening, February 26, 2012 at 7:00 P.M.
