Gayle Alane Milroy, 57 of Emporia, Kansas died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.

Gayle was born February 14, 1960 in Emporia, the daughter of Ernie and Evalee (Jernigan) Williams. She worked as an office administrator at Kansa Corp for 20 years and then at various other jobs. Gayle was member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporia and Beta Sigma Phi. She was active in 4-H and enjoyed painting, arts & crafts, cooking, baking, gardening and her family especially her granddaughters.

Gayle married Larry Milroy on March 21, 1981 in Emporia. He survives of the home. Other survivors include: mother Evalee Williams of Emporia, son Jeremy Milroy of Overland Park, Kansas, daughter Kari Cheever and husband Lance of Eldorado, Kansas, brother Dan Williams and wife Petra of Emporia, sister Chrysann Phipps and husband Joel of Manhattan, Kansas, granddaughters Ashlynn Cheever and Katelyn Cheever and nieces and nephews Logan and Morgan Williams of Emporia, Kannon and Rhys Phipps of Manhattan, Chris Caruthers of Wellsville, Kansas and Susan Stueve of Ottawa, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father Ernie Williams and a brother-in-law Jim Milroy.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Emporia. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 7, 2017 at First United Methodist Church. Pastor Jeannie Jenson of the church will be officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery south of Emporia.
