Gerado Nicholas "Jerry" Rodriguez

Gerado Nicholas “Jerry” Rodriguez, 61 of Emporia, Kansas died June 18, 2018 at his home.

Jerry was born June 27, 1956 in Emporia the son of Pedro and Manuela (Bueno) Rodriguez. He graduated from Emporia High in the class of ’74. Jerry worked at Modine Manufacturing until they closed and then at Emporia Pet Foods for 5 years. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Didde Catholic Campus Center. Jerry volunteered many hours at the Didde Catholic Campus Center. In his younger years he was active with the Brown Express fast pitch softball team. Jerry’s greatest joy was his grandchildren.

In 1977 Jerry married Louise Rangel in Emporia. They later divorced. He is survived by a son Nicholas Rodriguez of Kingsville, Texas, daughter Lacey Rodriguez of Emporia, brothers David Rodriguez of Emporia, Gilbert Rodriguez of Emporia, Cristobal Rodriguez of Arizona, Pete Rodriguez of Wichita, Kansas, sisters Armida Martinez of Emporia, Elizabeth Solano of San Antonio, Texas, and 4 grandchildren Alejandro Garza, Donovan Esquivel, Daegan Esquivel, and Mila Ceren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Belinda Gutierrez.

A Memorial Mass will be 9:00 A.M. Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. Father Brandon Farrar will be the Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Inurnment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Didde Catholic Campus Center and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
