Gerald Lee Lambert, 73, of Emporia, Kansas died December 31, 2011 at Presbyterian Manor, Emporia.

Gerald Lee Lambert was born January 2, 1938 in Newton, Kansas, the son of Joseph Nelson & Anita Dean (Beach) Lambert. A graduate of Newton High School, he worked as a conductor and brakeman for Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years, retiring in 2002. Gerald served in the US Navy and was a member of Life Church in Emporia.

Gerald married Delores Dallas Gilchrist on November 11, 1961 at Newton, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Roy Lambert of Emporia; daughters, Patricia Lipson of Emporia, and Katherine Sprecker of Americus, Kansas; grandchildren, Jennifer Lipson of Joplin, Missouri, David Sprecker, III of Emporia, Sharee Lambert of Emporia, Nicole Tollett of Oceanside, California, and Gerri Sprecker of Emporia; and great-grandchild, Talen Hart of Oceanside, California.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughters, Sheryl Lambert and Norma Lambert; and sisters, Anita Sullivan, Sharon Morris, and Mary Hawthorne.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Life Church in Emporia. Pastor Tony Lantz and Pastor Chris Baker of the church will be officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas, with Military Honors provided by US Army, Fort Riley, Kansas.

A Time of Remembrance will be Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia.
