Gladys Pearl (Hensley) Collins, 91, of Carbondale, Kansas, passed away October 22, 2010 at Brookside Retirement Center in Overbrook, Kansas.

Gladys was born November 25, 1918 at Royal, Nebraska to John M. & Pearl Mae (Forney) Hensley. She married Lee Richard Craig on October 17, 1940. On January 1, 1955, they moved to Emporia, Kansas. He died in May, 1985. She later married Jack D. Collins on January 20, 1993 at Cottonwood Falls, Kansas.

She is survived by one Son, Ken Craig and his wife Joan of Carbondale, Kansas; a Stepson, Philip Collins and his wife Jan of Emporia, Kansas; a Sister, Dorothy Novotny of Oakland, Nebraska; Granddaughter, Shawni Viergever of Topeka, Kansas; Grandson, Joseph Craig; Great-Grandsons, Devin and Dalton Viergever; four Step-Grandchildren; and 11 Step-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; both husbands; a Son, Thomas Robert Craig; three Brothers: Mike Hensley, Robert Hensley, and John Hensley; and four Sisters: Florence Haining, Floriene Swanbom, Lois Smutney, and Shirley Kucera.

Gladys was a Nurses Aid at Newman Memorial County Hospital in Emporia, Kansas for 10 years, and also a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Scranton, KS.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday October 27, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia, Kansas. Father Rich Warsnak of the Church will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kansas. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Emporia, Kansas.
