Gladys Beatrice Simonsson, 92, formerly of Emporia, Kansas, died on January 25, 2012 at Enterprise Estates in Enterprise, Kansas.

Gladys was born on September 13, 1919 in Strong City, Kansas, the daughter of John Edward and Mable E. Pratt Troup. She married George W. Harder on May 1, 1940 in Kingman, Kansas. He died on April 20, 1970 in Bushong, Kansas. She later married Edgar Simonsson on May 21, 1972 in Council Grove, Kansas. He died on October 28, 1992.

Survivors include: stepdaughters, Betty Sargent of Benkelman, Nebraska, and Roberta Harris of Julesburg, Colorado; brother-in-law, Kenneth Sexton of Solomon, Kansas; five step-grandchildren; thirteen step great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-granchildren.

She is preceded in death by two husbands; her parents; and sisters, Viola Troup, and Virginia Sexton.

For many years, Gladys was a clerk at Graves Drug Store in Emporia. She was a member of the Bushong Methodist Church in Bushong, Kansas, as well as the United Methodist Women there at the church.
