Gloria Jean Jackson

Gloria Jean Jackson formerly of Americus, Kansas died on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at her home in Emporia surrounded by her family.  She was 81.

Gloria was born on October 8, 1942, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of William F. Jr., and Mary F. Hazlett Delfs.  She married Bobby R. Jackson on November 19, 1961, in Wichita, Kansas.  He died on October 30, 2019, in Wichita.

Surviving family members include her son, Jeff (Cindy) Jackson of Burns; daughters, Chris (Duane) Parks of Osage City; Janis Cox of Emmett, Idaho, and Marla Jackson of Goddard; son-in-law Scott Richardson of Ark City and a foster son Rick Jackson of Salina; grandchildren, Heidi (Clint) Cummings, Anne (Andrew) Selley, Hannah (John) Freed, Emily Jackson, Caleb (Alyssa) Jackson, Derek (Tricia) Parks, Haydon (Ashlyn) Parks, Slaytor (Olivia) Parks, Kaleigh Richardson, Kelsey (Eric) Swanson, Joe (Paige) Cox, Courtney (Trystan) Pringle, and Dylan (Anjelika) Cox; thirty four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Shelly F. Richardson, parents, and brother Leo Carrol Delfs.

Gloria worked in Special Services.  She was a member of the Auxiliary of Gideons.

Cremation is planned.  Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel.  Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the funeral home.  A private burial will take place later at the Americus Cemetery in Americus.  Memorial contributions to the Gideons Internation can be sent in care of Roberts-Boue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O.  Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
