Gregory A. Wilkinson, 56, of rural Hartford, Kansas, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his home.
Gregory Alan Wilkinson was born at Topeka, Kansas on June 16, 1956, the son of Duane Wilbur and Maurine Kaye (Moore) Wilkinson. He married Vicky Young May 7, 1977 in Gridley, Kansas. They later divorced.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Smith, Bentonville, Arkansas; son, Clayton Wilkinson, Gridley; his parents, Duane and Maurine Wilkinson, Saint Charles, Missouri; brothers, Mike Wilkinson of Champaign, Illinois, and Todd Wilkinson, Eureka, Missouri; sisters, Linda Faily, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Lisa Watson, Saint Peters, Missouri; and grandchildren, Kahlen Smith, Kinley Smith, Lilah Wilkinson, and Coy Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Leigh Wilkinson, who died July 21, 1986; a nephew, Nicholas Watson; and his grandparents, Ray and Faye Moore.
Mr. Wilkinson was a farmer/rancher, and also was a grader operator for the Lyon County Road and Bridge Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Steve McVey, Lamont Weslyan Church. Interment will follow in the Gridley Cemetery, Gridley, Kansas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, November 23, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
