Guy Robert Bacon

Guy Robert Bacon was born on February 21, 1944, in his home at Kahola Lake, Kansas. He passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 82.

Guy is survived by his wife Janece, of 30 years, and four children; Amy Bacon, Cindy (Jason) Bacon, Kevin (Shirley) McLeighton, Zina (Steve) Shepard, stepsons Marc Heinitz and Chris Heinitz, eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and sister Caroline Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank A. and Luella I. Baker Bacon and two brothers and three sisters.

Guy loved his family. Guy worked his whole life doing mechanical work at Lyon County Road and Bridge, Detroit Diesel, IBP, and other businesses. He loved dogs. He raised and trained coon dogs and spoiled dogs (Katie and Ziffie). He also loved to fish for catfish. His brother Gene was his favorite fishing buddy.

Guy will always be remembered as a man who acted quickly when he saw something wrong or needed fixing. He would go out of his way to lend a helping hand.

Guy is now out of pain and with his Lord and Savior. Memorial Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the First Christian Church, 1702 W. 15th, Emporia.
