Harold Eugene Bedner, 80, of Emporia, Kansas died on Friday, October 10, 2014 at his cabin at Lake Kahola.
Harold was born on December 7, 1933 in Emporia, the son of CJ and Lola Lee Tucker Bedner. He married Patricia Ross on June 26, 1954 in Emporia. She survives.
Other survivors include: daughters, Dianne Smith and husband Gary, of Bushong, Kansas, and Lesley Bedner-Green of Emporia; brother, Carl Bedner of Emporia; sister, Jane Mockry of Derby, Kansas; grandchildren, Samantha Green, Shelby Green, and Kristin Jackson; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Helberg, Corey Helberg, MacKenzie and MacKenna Young, Victoria Dold, Jalon and Carly Jackson, and Isiaiah Smith.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Ross Eugene Bedner; a brother, Jerry Bedner; and a sister, Ruth Barrett; and an infant great-great-grandson, Lenny Brown.
Harold was an International Service and Sales Manager and traveled internationally at Didde for 38 years before retiring 20 years ago. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, served in the United States Army, and was a member of Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. Interment will follow with military honors at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
