Harold L. Culver of Emporia passed away Friday, June 19, 2026, at Presbyterian Manor. He was 95.
Harold L. Culver was born in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Clarence E. and Erma M. Culver, on March 30, 1931. He was raised in the Madison area and graduated from Madison High School in 1949. On June 10, 1951, he married Marjorie J. Sauder. They were blessed with nearly 63 years of marriage.
Culver was a Korean Veteran with the U.S. Marines, serving from 1952 to 1954. Harold was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps band, marching in the 1953 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
Mr. Culver was a lifelong banker, serving in several eastern Kansas community banks through his 40 year career. Harold was always involved in his community, active in Lions Clubs and Rotary Clubs throughout his career.
After his retirement in 1991, Harold and his wife, Marjorie, moved back to Emporia. They loved big band music and were avid golfers. Harold was a member of the First Congregational Church of Emporia.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, and his parents. He is survived by a son, Rick Culver (Twila) of Spring Hill, Kansas, a daughter, Terry Davis (Leo) of Topeka, Kansas, 5 adult grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held in the Emporia Presbyterian Manor Chapel at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Interment following at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemeteries of Emporia, arranged by Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorial contributions be made to the Emporia Presbyterian Manor Employee Scholarship Fund or Emporia Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund can be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barrnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
