Harold Lloyd Haley, 89, of Emporia, Kansas, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.
Harold was born September 10, 1925 in Olpe, Kansas, the son of Winfield Scott & Ellen (Dunn) Haley. He worked for Panhandle Eastern in Olpe and Alva, Oklahoma, retiring in 1985. Harold served in US Navy on the USS Alabama during WWII. He was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In Alva, Oklahoma, he was an active member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Harold married Dorothea Hohne on December 30, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: brother, Glenn Haley of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Della Bertram of Pratt, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herbert Haley, Walter Haley, and Eugene Haley;, and sisters, Martha Jones, Nina Anderson, Nadine Crump, and Ann Haley.
The Rosary will be recited 9:00 A.M. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, led by Father Tom Dolezal. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M., celebrated by Father John Cordes of St Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Olpe, with military honors by US Navy; Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion; and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Sacred Space Building Fund, St. Joseph Catholic Church, or Sacred Heart Catholic School, and sent in care of the funeral home.
