Harold R. Shaddix, 78, Emporia, Kansas, died at his home on Sunday, August 18, 2013.
Harold Ray Shaddix was born June 16, 1935 at Hollis, Oklahoma, the son of King Bryan and Gertrude (Milligan) Shaddix. He married Karen Johnson at Norwalk, California on December 19, 1953. She survives of the home.
Surviving family members include: his wife, Karen; son, Michael Ray Shaddix of Fort Mill, South Carolina; two daughters, Pamela Schmidt, and Cindy Schmidt, both of Emporia; a sister, Joyce Gray, Boise, Idaho; brother, Russell Shaddix, Arcata, California; nine grandchildren, Stacie Sonnakolb. Nicole Shaddix-Olsen, Justin Schmidt, Kelsey Schmidt, Samantha Shaddix, Shelby Schmidt, Danielle Shaddix, Corey Schmidt, and Hayden Shaddix; and one great-grandson, Benjamin Harold Sonnakolb.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, two brothers, and a sister.
Mr. Shaddix was Plant Superintendent for the Modine Manufacturing Company facility in Emporia. He was with Modine 39 years, and had retired from the company 23 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Gary Gooszen, Sardis Congregational Church, Emporia. A private family burial will be held later that afternoon.
The casket will remain closed.
