Harry Walter Thompson, 81, of Emporia, Kansas, died on April 9, 2015 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.

Harry was born on December 27, 1933 in Syracuse, Kansas, the son of Bertrand Floyd and Dorothy Orrilla Walter Thompson. He married Bernita Lonette Arnold on April 22, 1961 in Emporia. She died on May 3, 2001 in Emporia.

Surviving family members include: son, David W. Thompson of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters, Lisa A. Tosti of Sky Valley, California, and Lindsay A. Thompson of Reading, Kansas; grandsons, Salvatore Tosti of San Diego, California, Antonio Tosti of Riverside, California, and Zachary Sparks of Emporia; brothers, John Thompson of Gwinner, North Dakota, and Grady Thompson of Dodge City, Kansas; half-brother, Craig Thompson of Scottsdale, Arizona; and sister, Melissa Hartshorn of Syracuse, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Bert Thompson.

Before retiring in 1998, Harry worked in real estate investments in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Emporia for years. Harry served in the United States Air Force.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Emporia Presbyterian Church, Emporia. Burial will follow at the Patio Garden, Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, with military honors by Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion, and Lowery-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, April 13, 2015 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
