Hazel J. Moore, 89, Emporia, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, November 17, 2013 at Holiday Resort, Emporia.
Hazel J. Lewis was born at Emporia on June 20, 1924, the daughter of John Dale and Ida Viola (Moser) Lewis. She married L. J. Moore at Emporia on April 3, 1944. L.J. died August 20, 1991.
Mrs. Moore worked as a secretary for a number of Emporia businesses, including Poehler Mercantile, Hallmark Cards, and West-America Securities. She had also worked in the Lyon County Courthouse in the Registrar of Deeds Office and as a clerk for Judge William Dick.
Surviving family members include her son, Dale, Emporia; grandchildren, Danny and Daren Moore, and Darlena Sherwood; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Nathan, Austin, and Brooke Moore.
Services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Patio Garden of Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Leonard Wagner, Church of God Of Prophecy, Emporia.
The family will receive friends at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Thursday evening, November 21, 2013 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
